What to expect right after treatment
Your skin may look red and feel warm, similar to a sunburn, for 24–48 hours.
Mild swelling, sensitivity, or light peeling can also occur as your skin begins to heal.
Immediate care (first 24 hours)
Wash your face gently with a mild, non-foaming cleanser and lukewarm water.
Avoid makeup, active skincare products (retinol, acids, exfoliants), and anything heavily fragranced.
Stay away from heat, sweating, saunas, and steam rooms.
Use only the aftercare products recommended by your therapist.
Days 2–5 recovery
Continue gentle cleansing and moisturising with soothing, barrier-supporting products such as hyaluronic acid or ceramides.
Apply broad-spectrum sunscreen daily (SPF 30–50) and avoid direct sun exposure.
Do not pick, peel, or scratch any flaking skin.
After the first week (Day 6 onwards)
You may gradually reintroduce mild active skincare, but only under the guidance of your therapist.
Keep up hydration, moisturising, and sunscreen as part of your daily routine.
If you notice unusual redness, irritation, or signs of infection, contact the clinic immediately.
General do-nots while healing
Avoid strong actives (retinol, AHAs, BHAs, hydroquinone) until your skin has fully recovered.
Skip heavy makeup for the first 24–48 hours.
Do not swim in pools, saltwater, or chlorinated water until your skin barrier has healed.

Does microneedling hurt?
You’ll feel a light prickling or scratching sensation. We apply numbing cream beforehand so most clients only feel mild discomfort, not pain.
How long is the downtime?
Expect redness for 24–48 hours, similar to a sunburn. Mild swelling or peeling can happen as your skin renews. Most people are back to normal within 2–5 days.
When will I see results?
Collagen production is a slow process. You may notice smoother texture and glow within 1–2 weeks, but the best results appear after a course of treatments, usually 4–6 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart.
Can microneedling help with acne scars and pigmentation?
Yes- it’s clinically proven to remodel scar tissue and improve pigmentation irregularities. It won’t erase scars completely, but it can significantly soften their depth and visibility.
Is microneedling safe for darker skin tones?
Absolutely. Microneedling doesn’t use heat or light, so it’s safe across all skin tones with less risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation compared to lasers.
What should I avoid before and after microneedling?
Before: pause retinol, acids, scrubs, and blood-thinning medications for 3–7 days.
After: avoid makeup, heat, saunas, strenuous exercise, and active skincare until your skin has calmed. Always use SPF.
How many treatments will I need?
For general rejuvenation, 3–4 treatments may be enough. For acne scarring or deeper concerns, 6+ treatments may be recommended. Your therapist will guide you based on your skin goals.
