Clinical Skin Remodelling through controlled collagen induction
Microneedling is a clinical collagen induction treatment designed to improve acne scarring, uneven texture, enlarged pores, fine lines, and overall skin quality through controlled skin remodelling. At Lafont Advanced Skin Clinic, treatments are tailored to your skin condition, barrier function, inflammation levels, pigmentation risk, and long-term goals to ensure a safer, more intelligent approach to skin revision.
Because the skin naturally renews itself in cycles of approximately four weeks, microneedling is most effective when performed as a structured treatment series rather than a one-off treatment. This allows the skin time to repair, rebuild collagen, and progressively strengthen between sessions for more meaningful long-term results.
Why clients choose Microneedling treatments with us.
Controlled collagen stimulation– not aggressive over-treatment.
Structured treatment planning for better long-term results.
Clinical support and oversight before, during, and after treatment.
Treatment pathways tailored to your skin concern.
Acne Scarring
Improves the appearance of atrophic acne scarring by stimulating collagen production and supporting gradual dermal remodelling over a series of treatments. Best results are achieved through consistency and structured treatment planning.
Texture, Congestion & Pores
Helps improve rough texture, congestion, enlarged pores, and uneven skin quality by supporting healthier skin function and cellular renewal.
Pigmentation & Post-Inflammatory Marks
May help improve post-inflammatory pigmentation and uneven skin tone when appropriate for the skin condition and performed within a controlled treatment plan.
Fine Lines & Age Management
Stimulates collagen and elastin production to support firmer, smoother, healthier-looking skin while improving overall skin quality and early ageing changes.
Controlled Micro-Channels
Microneedling creates tiny controlled channels within the skin using professional-grade needles. These controlled micro-injuries stimulate the skin’s natural wound-healing response without causing aggressive surface damage.
This process activates cellular communication pathways involved in skin repair, collagen production, and tissue regeneration.
Collagen Stimulation
Once the skin detects controlled injury, fibroblast activity increases and new collagen production begins.
Collagen is one of the key structural proteins responsible for skin firmness, support, elasticity, and overall skin strength. This stimulation occurs gradually over time, which is why microneedling results continue developing after treatment.
Skin Remodelling
As the skin repairs itself, it gradually remodels uneven or damaged tissue.
This process may help improve:
- acne scarring
- rough texture
- enlarged pores
- uneven skin quality
- early ageing changes
Remodelling occurs progressively over multiple treatment cycles rather than overnight.
Texture & Scar Revision
Microneedling supports smoother skin texture by encouraging healthier collagen architecture beneath the surface.
Repeated treatment sessions may help soften the appearance of atrophic acne scarring and improve overall skin refinement over time.
Epidermal Renewal
Microneedling also supports healthier epidermal turnover and improved skin function.
As the skin renews itself, clients may notice improvements in:
- skin smoothness
- radiance
- texture
- congestion
- overall skin quality
Treatment Cycling
The skin naturally repairs and renews itself in cycles of approximately four weeks.
For this reason, microneedling treatments are typically spaced four weeks apart to allow proper healing, collagen formation, and progressive skin remodelling between sessions.
This is why treatment series often produce significantly better results than isolated one-off treatments.
Wh Skin Remodelling takes time
Microneedling works by triggering the skin’s natural repair response through controlled collagen stimulation. But collagen production and skin remodelling do not happen instantly – the skin needs time to heal, rebuild, and strengthen between treatments.
That’s why microneedling is typically performed in structured four-week treatment cycles. Each session builds upon the previous healing phase to progressively improve texture, acne scarring, pores, fine lines, and overall skin quality over time.

Microneedling Review
I don’t usually post reviews, but the team at Lafont truly deserves one.
They are absolutely wonderful so welcoming, accommodating, and kind.
I’ve been going to their skin clinic since the beginning of August for LED light and microneedling treatments, and every visit has been such a positive experience. The staff Caprice, Tegan and Virginie are always gentle, knowledgeable, and take the time to explain everything in simple terms so you really understand what’s happening with your skin.
Over the past three months, I’ve noticed such a big difference in my skin, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. I highly recommend Lafont and their amazing team!
Not Sure? Let’s Break It Down.
Is microneedling painful?
Microneedling can feel uncomfortable for some clients, however pain levels vary significantly depending on individual pain tolerance, treatment intensity, and the area being treated. Areas with thinner skin or more prominent bone structure often feel more sensitive than areas with thicker skin or more underlying tissue.
At Lafont Advanced Skin Clinic, treatment depth and intensity are adjusted carefully based on your skin condition, treatment goals, and overall tolerance to ensure treatments remain controlled, professional, and clinically appropriate.
What should I use on my skin after microneedling?
Immediately following microneedling, the skin should be treated gently while the barrier recovers. For the first few days post-treatment, we generally recommend focusing on hydration and barrier support using simple, non-active products such as hyaluronic acid-based hydration serums.
Most active skincare ingredients should be avoided initially and then reintroduced gradually over approximately 3–5 days depending on your skin sensitivity, treatment intensity, and healing response.
What should I avoid after microneedling?
Following microneedling, the skin enters a controlled healing phase and becomes temporarily more sensitive to heat, inflammation, and environmental stress.
For the first few days after treatment, we generally recommend avoiding excessive heat exposure, saunas, steam rooms, hot showers, swimming pools, intense exercise, and prolonged sun exposure- particularly activities that create significant sweating or stimulate excess heat within the skin. These environments may increase inflammation, irritation, sensitivity, and pigment risk while the skin barrier is recovering.
Clients should also prioritise gentle hydration, barrier support, gradual reintroduction of active skincare, and consistent daily SPF protection throughout the healing period.
Can microneedling make pigmentation worse?
In some cases, excessive inflammation or incorrect treatment planning may increase pigment risk- particularly in reactive, inflamed, or darker skin types. This is why skin preparation, treatment depth, inflammation management, and aftercare are all carefully considered before treatment.
Can active acne be treated with microneedling?
Not always. Certain inflamed or active acne conditions may need to be stabilised before microneedling is appropriate. Treating highly inflamed skin incorrectly can increase irritation, inflammation, and scarring risk.
Treatment suitability is assessed based on your skin condition, inflammation levels, and overall skin health.
Why do you recommend treatment series instead of one-off treatments?
Microneedling works through repeated collagen stimulation and progressive skin remodelling. While single treatments may support general skin maintenance, treatment series typically produce stronger corrective outcomes by allowing the skin to rebuild gradually over multiple healing cycles.
Can microneedling be overdone?
Yes. Excessive treatment frequency, overly aggressive treatment depths, or insufficient healing time between treatments may compromise the skin barrier and increase unnecessary inflammation.
At Lafont Advanced Skin Clinic, treatments are structured carefully to support controlled skin remodelling while respecting the skin’s healing capacity.
Is microneedling suitable for sensitive skin?
Some sensitive skin types may still be suitable for microneedling, however treatment intensity, inflammation levels, barrier function, and overall skin stability need to be considered carefully beforehand.
Treatment planning is always adjusted based on your individual skin condition and tolerance.
What products should I avoid before microneedling?
Depending on your skin condition and treatment plan, clients may be advised to temporarily avoid certain active skincare ingredients prior to treatment, including exfoliating acids, retinoids, aggressive scrubs, and potentially irritating products.
Your skin therapist will guide you on appropriate skin preparation before treatment.
Do I need to stop using retinol before treatment?
Most clients are advised to temporarily pause retinoids and stronger active ingredients before and shortly after treatment depending on treatment intensity and skin sensitivity.
This helps reduce unnecessary irritation and supports safer skin healing during the treatment cycle.
Why do you combine microneedling with LED Light Therapy?
At Lafont Advanced Skin Clinic, microneedling treatments include a complimentary recovery LED Light Therapy session performed approximately 1–2 days following treatment to support the skin during the healing phase.
LED Light Therapy helps support recovery, inflammation regulation, skin comfort, and overall barrier healing following controlled collagen stimulation. This additional recovery treatment is designed to support safer healing and more comprehensive long-term skin outcomes following microneedling.
Is microneedling safe for darker skin tones?
Microneedling can often be performed safely on darker skin tones when treatment intensity, inflammation levels, healing response, and pigment risk are managed appropriately.
At Lafont Advanced Skin Clinic, we carefully consider factors such as post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation risk, barrier function, active inflammation, treatment depth, skin preparation, and recovery support before treatment. The goal is controlled skin stimulation and progressive skin remodelling — not excessive inflammation or aggressive over-treatment.
