Laser Skin Consultation

A focused screening appointment to determine if IPL or vascular laser is appropriate for your skin.

What We Assess During Your Laser Consultation

Your skin is evaluated specifically for laser and IPL suitability.

During this focused 10 minute appointment, we assess:

– Skin type and Fitzpatrick classification
– Presence of active acne, inflammation or barrier disruption
– Vascular activity such as redness or visible capillaries
– Pigmentation behaviour and sun damage patterns
– Medical history and contraindications
– Whether IPL or vascular laser is appropriate

If more detailed investigation or treatment planning is required, a Clinical Skin Consultation may be recommended.

This ensures your treatment pathway is safe, precise and tailored.

No assumptions. No generic protocols. No one-size-fits-all facials.

Laser & IPL Indications We Assess

Laser and IPL treatments require accurate screening. Many skin concerns share similar surface appearances, but respond very differently to light-based therapy. During your Laser Skin Consultation, we determine whether IPL or vascular laser is appropriate for your skin and whether treatment should proceed now or be staged first.

This does three things:
• Reinforces safety
• Reinforces clinical judgement
• Keeps it focused on laser

Acne & Congestion

Includes inflammatory and persistent breakouts.
We assess whether active inflammation is stable enough for IPL support or whether barrier repair is required first.

Rosacea & Vascular Concerns

Includes flushing, visible capillaries and diffuse redness.
We determine if vascular laser is appropriate based on pattern, reactivity and inflammation level.

Hair Removal

A chronic inflammatory condition affecting hair follicles in areas such as the underarms and groin. We assess inflammatory activity, scarring patterns, skin barrier status, and suitability for supportive in-clinic management alongside medical care where required.

Pigmentation & Melasma

We assess hair thickness, pigment contrast, growth cycle timing, skin type, sun exposure, and hormonal drivers to determine safe laser parameters and a structured long-term reduction plan.

Why Assessment Comes Before Laser Treatment

#

Laser and IPL are powerful tools. Used incorrectly, they can worsen inflammation, trigger pigmentation, or delay barrier recovery.

Many concerns like acne, redness, spider veins, unwanted hair, look similar on the surface but respond very differently to light-based therapy.

During your Laser Skin Consultation, we determine:
– Whether laser is appropriate
– Which modality is safest (IPL or vascular laser)
– Whether your skin requires stabilisation first
– The correct energy pathway and treatment spacing

Precision protects your skin.
Safety protects your long-term results. We prioritise understanding before intervention.

Not Sure? Let’s Break It Down.

Why can’t I just book a treatment straight away?

Laser and IPL are powerful technologies. Without assessing skin type, inflammation levels, pigment depth, vascular reactivity, and contraindications, treatment can lead to inconsistent results or complications.
Your skin deserves a precise plan– not a guess.

Is this just a consultation, or will anything actually happen?

This is a structured clinical assessment.
We analyse your skin using professional imaging and diagnostic criteria, determine suitability for IPL or vascular laser, and design your treatment pathway.
If appropriate and safe, treatment may be scheduled promptly– but only once we confirm it’s indicated.

I’ve tried everything. How is this different?

Most treatments fail because they treat surface symptoms.
We identify the dominant driver– inflammation, pigment behaviour, vascular activity, barrier disruption, or hormonal influence– before recommending intervention.
Precision changes outcomes.

Do I need this if I’ve already seen a dermatologist?

Dermatology diagnoses conditions.
We assess laser and IPL suitability, skin reactivity, and treatment staging.
It’s a different layer of decision-making focused specifically on safe, effective energy-based treatment.

Product recommendations are only made after assessment.

Every recommendation is based on your skin’s physiological behaviour– not trends, not generic protocols, and not commission-based selling.

We prioritise barrier stability, inflammation control, and long-term skin health before intensity.
